a look back at 2019
My mom hosted a brunch on my birthday. It was cold outside and sweet friends gathered around the table and sipped coffee and talked and laughed.
As she has since I was a child, she made it magical: pink balloons, birthday cake, sweet friends, party favors.
The next month we celebrated the 50th anniversary of when my parents married. It was a wonderful meal with family at Folk’s Folly. The table was decorated with photos of them over the last 50 years. We had fun reminiscing. For dessert we had the best cake I’ve ever tasted (from Muddy’s Bake Shop).
Early spring/late winter camellias outside our back door.
At my cousin’s outdoor wedding.
Tillman and I saw 21 Pilots in concert.
This is the hilariously bad selfie that I laughed at for about 10 minutes. That night when I went to sleep, Tillman zoomed in my face with that weird look, and made it my phone wallpaper.
Be prepared to be startled.
I discovered Alisa Burke’s online classes and fell in love. This was a page from a nature journal class. I will revisit the class and do it all over again during a different season.
Not even the worst outtake when I was trying to take my own headshot.
At least we had fun with great friends at the Miss. State v. Auburn game!
Harvest gold, avocado green, and burnt orange speak to my 70s-loving kid heart.
Thanksgiving with my family.
On a rainy night we rode around our sweet small town and took in the Christmas lights.
