It used to be people put photos of things they like on their blog and said, "Here! Look!"
Now these are called "curated" collections. Are we more savvy or just pretentious?
Maybe I'm the simpleton. When I hear "curated" I think of art in a museum. No one has ever accused me of being hip to the current lingo. (But you knew that because I just said, "hip to the current lingo.")
The other day, my mom and I went to a fabric store in downtown Cleveland, Miss. I really like Cleveland - I was born there. My dad grew up in a small town a few miles away, so the area has always kind of felt like home.
We nabbed a spot right in front of Ella Rose Fabrics. We must have stayed there an hour, maybe longer. I told the clerk that if I worked there, I would never sleep - I'd go home with images of all the colors and patterns bouncing around my head. Sensory overload, in the best kind of way.
I walked around the store and breathed in all the possibilities. I probably touched every fabric. They were all so pretty! Curated, that's the word that came to mind. I love the fabric collections, every last pattern and color and print. I could have bought them ALL.
I think I showed a lot of restraint in coming home with only one bag of sumptuous fabrics.
