Week Something or 'Nother

Last week, I worked out a couple of days and I've worked out a bit this week. I also spent at least two days last week when I said, “Healthy eating? Wha? Don’t know what you’re talking about,” and ate a lot of high-calorie stuff. I enjoyed every last bite, too.

When I weighed in Monday, I'd gained another pound.

Short version - I've gained a good bit of weight this month and while not discouraged exactly, I feel befuddled. I thought I was enjoying my favorite foods, in moderation for the most part. I drank lots of water and made sure to get those workouts in. It's puzzling.

But.

Onward and upward.

At the place where I work out, there's a sign that tells us to watch what we eat January through October, and then you can kind of let things slide in November and December.

It's all good. Holidays are almost over.

I don't even want to get on a scale. I know that I have gained cause I can feel and see it. :( But I am really planning on stepping it up in 2009. I will do it! And first I am going to work on my image of myself. Until I see myself as beautiful and worthwhile I never will do what I need.

salt+sugar=water retention. Those little pounds are going to slide off, if not today or even on New Year's Eve and Day, then soon, and you will have had your holiday goodies, which nourish the fun. Sacrifice never works.

I think we're having a deja vu moment here! I can only blame mine on all the baking I did through December.

Keetha: I'm now an official fan! I hear what you're saying about weight and the holidays. I was doing great until my birthday two weeks ago and it seems like overnight all the weight I had lost came right back! It's a struggle but I will start clean again Jan. 5. Good luck with your resolutions. You have much to look forward to in '09!
